Privacy Policy

Last updated June 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what Text My Event collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to event hosts who use the Service and to guests who receive or respond to messages sent through it.

Information we collect

Account data — your name and mobile number, used to sign you in and identify your events.

Guest data — names, phone numbers, group/household membership, RSVP responses, and notes that hosts add or that guests submit through opt-in and RSVP forms.

Consent records — to document permission to text a guest, we store the consent source, timestamp, and (for web opt-ins) the IP address and user agent of the submission.

Usage data — sign-in activity (IP, device), message delivery status, and short-link clicks.

How we use it

To deliver the Service: send the messages you compose, track RSVPs and replies, enforce message limits and our content policy, secure accounts, and provide support. We do not sell your data or your guests’ data.

SMS & service providers

We use Twilio to send and receive SMS/MMS. Phone numbers and message content are shared with Twilio solely to transmit your messages. Media you attach is stored with our hosting/storage providers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Mobile information is never shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Opt-out & your choices

Guests can reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opt-outs are honored automatically. Hosts can edit or remove guests; deleted guests are hidden, though consent records are retained as required to prove prior permission.

To access or delete your account data, contact us.

Retention & security

We keep data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, though no system is perfectly secure.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy; material changes take effect when posted here. Questions about your privacy? Contact us.
